All Ski and Snowboarding Schools are located on the sunny plateau at the top of the Samoens gondola at Samoens 1600m, so are just a quick 8 min Gondola ride up from the village itself. Between the three schools they cover all abilities from first time skiers up to specialist expert skiing clinics so you are guaranteed to find something for you.
Guests can choose to learn either in a group environment with a Ski School, or book private lessons in smaller groups where you will have your own personal instructor. All Ski Schools have fluent English speaking instructors too.
There are several restaurants over-looking the beginner’s area for parents to watch their children or just to act as a meeting-point, as well as an adjoining sledging area so families can vary the entertainment.
Bookings must be made with the Ski Schools directly but don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like some advice. All Ski Schools get booked up quickly at peak periods so we recommend booking early to ensure you get the lessons that you want.
The most popular Ski School with our guests with an excellent reputation, they cover both children’s & adult Group Lessons and also Private Tuition too. Zig-Zag are a small ski school who only recruit fluent English speaking instructors, they are a little bit more expensive but are good value for money with small group sizes (max 8). Their approach is very flexible on what to teach and they have excellent instructors who cover all abilities from nursery slope beginners right up to off-piste guiding.

We have also had good feedback from some of our guests who have used Ecole360. They too are a small ski school who offer group lessons for children & adults as well as private lessons too though their proficiency of English is more variable. A good value for money option.

All encompassing ski school, part of the national French ESF network. We generally recommend ESF Samoens children’s ski schools where child-minding is also a requirement as they provide a link to the Nursery / Creche down in the town centre. Otherwise their group sizes can be too large. They also offer the cheapest private lessons in the area, especially at lunchtimes when their prices really are excellent value.
